NiceCoder announced yesterday that they have released two new themes for IndexU. The new themes, Colourise1-0 and MarketPlace1-0, are available for IndexUTemplate subscribers for free. If your not a member of IndexUTemplates, you can purchase the theme individually from NiceCoder’s website.

I’m personally interested in Colourise. Its a dark theme, which normally doesn’t interest me, but the header really makes this theme for me. One suggestion if you decide to use this theme, edit the CSS so that link titles use a white ( or bright ) font. Its currently set as black and with the background, its extremely hard to see.

NiceCoder has just released its second new template / skin for IndexU this month. You can see a demo of it here.

For those that have Web Hosting Directories, you’ll definitely be interested in this template. Its very well done and maulana, One of the programmers for IndexU, deserves credit for putting this together.

NiceCoder templates are free for those that have a membership to IndexUTemplates.com. If you dont have a membership and just want to purchase this individual template, you can now do it by logging into your Client Area.

In keeping with NiceCoder’s committment to releasing atleast 1 new Template / Theme per month for IndexU, the News template was released today. You can see a demo of it here

It is definitely a different looking theme. You can probably be assured that no other directory script has a theme similar to it.

As an update to my previous post regarding IndexU Deluxe 1.2.1 and the Kosmos theme bug… It would seem the issue has been addressed in IndexU Deluxe 1.3, which is currently in beta testing right now. Barring any unexpected problems, I’m expecting 1.3 to be released probably sometime this week. But please, dont hold me feet to the fire on that one!

Deluxe 1.3 is mainly a bug fixer. Dont expect any major features to be released. Although, NiceCoder has been doing a nice job of putting out additional templates and plugins on their IndexUTemplates.com site. If your not a member of the site, I highly suggest it.

I’ll make an announcement here once 1.3 is released.

There appears to be a possible bug within the Kosmos theme for IndexU Deluxe 1.2.1 that is causing Smarty errors in the server logs. Here is what the logs report:

[Mon Jan 19 02:31:27 2009] [error] [client 125.164.204.131] client denied by server configuration: /home/iutest/public_html/indexu/themes/kosmos/home.html, referer: http://indexu.indexutesting.com/

If you change your theme to something else, say Facing ( from IndexUTemplates.com – Membership Required ) the error will no longer exist.

Although the error reports that its due to a server configuration, as of right now, we do not believe this is a server issue. The problem has been reported across multiple servers with different hosts.

Currently the programmers at NiceCoder are looking into the issue. I’ll post any fixes or changes once one becomes available.
